Three weeks in Italy
(10 Sept-02 Oct 2005)

Day 18 (Tuesday, Sept 27, 2005)

So next morning our first place to visit was Portovenere... I think I liked Portovenere much more then Portofino... Portofino being much smaller and looking much better than Portovenere it is not that old beautiful place for romance.. instead I think Portovenere looks much more authentic and a place with greater romance...

After Portovenere it was time to enter in Tuscany which we had left practically as the last place... we had many places in our list to visit in that beautiful rural part of Italy... so we started at Pisa... Pisa was very crowded that day but we luckily found a place to park the car... we visited the most important places and those that there were no huge queues in fron... then we did a short tour in the old part of the city...

After Pisa we drove through the fields and reached the beautiful Volterra town up on a hill... there very nice places to see and there were also many places selling many beautiful things made from glass or alabaster...

After Volterra we headed to San Gimigniano with the beautiful towers... there were nice hotels with pool in the fields on our way but because we had in mind to spend the evening at San Gimigniano we decided to stay at a hotel right outside of the town in walking distance... that one was a beautiful hotel (Hotel Villa Belvedere) within a garden and we later enjoyed it... we left the car at the hotel and we walked to the old city... San Gimigniano is really a very place... we looked at some places selling pottery and we even bought some small piece which I din't brake this time... later in the dark we sat at a wine bar and had something to eat and drink... we ate some delicious sweets called Panforte con Fiche and Panforte con nocciole...
