Next day after the breakfast we left the hotel and drove to the north alongside the coast of Lago di Garda... I believe this is the most beautiful lake in Italy though others may think differently... we went up to Riva first driving alongside beautiful villas and gardens and then many crazy and narrow tunnels... throughout all the way in mind there was that bautiful moovie (don't remember the name) were some Englishmen used to come here to a hotel before WWII...
After Riva we returned back but before Salo we turned to the west for our next stop which was Lago d'Isseo... when we arrived at Isseo town we found out that there was a ferry ready to leave for the largest lake island in Europe called Monte Isola... we jumped in and shortly we arrived at the island where we walked to the next village.. the weather was sunny and wonderful... there at the next village we had a coffe in a beautiful garden cafe... there were a few small and nice fish restaurants around and if we had time we could sit and relax with fish and wine in that beautiful atmosphere...
From Isseo we turned towards Bergamo city where we parked in the lover and new part of the city and walked to the funnicular which took us to the old upper city... the upper city is a beautiful place to visit as there are plenty of wonderful buildings... composer Gaetano Donizetti is buried in the beautiful Chiesa di Santa Maria Maggiore (5th photo below)... there are also very nice pasticcerias in the upper city...
After Bergamo we headed to Lecco town on Lago di Lecco... we arrived quite late and found a hotel facing the lake which was not so good but was quite expensive (I guess its name was Hotel Lecco)... I allways hate those short days in autumn... it seems that there was quite an industrial area around Lecco town but the city center was beautiful in the night...
