Three weeks in Italy
(10 Sept-02 Oct 2005)

Day 13 (Thursday, Sept 22, 2005)

Next morning we walked around Mantova... it was the local market day so we had fun... Mantova is a beautiful place just on the coast of a lake but again the town center Was not on the lake...

After Mantova our next stop was the colorful Verona city... we bought a card so we visited plenty of places at Verona... well, it seems that everyone is interested to the so called house of Juliette (from Shakespeare's play Romeo and Juliette) so the most crowded place was this house... Verona was a nice place, very calm and colorful, with wonderful restaurants and street cafes...

After Verona we arrived at the "Lakes" first was the Lago di Garda, we started at Peschiera del Garda and then we reached Sirminone but the place had no attraction at all, just beautiful and modern villas... then we passed through Desenzano del Garda, a nice but crowded town... we keep on driving and we get to Salo... just at the entrance of Salo there was a wonderful hotel (Hotel Conca d'Oro) so we decided to stay here... the first photo below is a view of Salo from our room's balcony...

Before it was dark we walked to Salo center, took a few photos and then back at the hotel where we had a wonderful dinner with fish and wine...
