Three weeks in Italy
(10 Sept-02 Oct 2005)

Day 12 (Wednesday, Sept 21, 2005)

Next morning the concierge at the hotel told us to take the bus instead of train for Venice... so we get on to the bus and reached Piazalle Roma on the island were we took a vaporetti which took us to St Mark's square through the Grand Canal...

We visited a lot of places and took many photos... at the time we reached the St Mark's square everything was nice but later on the square was flooded with sea water so the whole place was like a hell with people trying to get around over the narrow raised platforms...

In the afternoon we left Venice and went back to Mestre to fetch our car from the hotel and we set out for Padova to visit the wonderful Scrovagni Chapelle... nevertheless we were not allowed to take photos... the photos below are from a video...

only some 15 people at a time were accepted into the chapelle... each group first is taken into a video room were you watch a video of the chapelle for 15 minutes and then you are accepted to the interior of the chapelle... during the video the chapelle is ventilated to preserve the frescoes...

This Chapelle was one of the most interesting places we visited in Italy... after the chapelle we visited the museum and the galery next to the chapelle...

After Padova we had in mind to go and spent the night at Manotva but it was getting dark and when we reached Mantova it was already 21:00 o'clock... we found a descent hotel (Hotel ABC) and walked to the center of Mantova to have something to eat...
