Our Trip to Gallipoli Battle Fields
on 9-10 April 2005 (page 7)

After the Chunuk Bair visit we decided to go down towards the Suvla bay and try to get into the ANZAC cove from the north hoping the road was open at this side... we drove down the hills from an unpaved road for a few kilometers and then we reach the asphalt road and went towards the sea... the weather was getting hot... but there at the shore the road was once again closed... they told us that we were close to the Ariburnu monuments (a few kms) where the ANZAC cove was starting... but we couldn't walk because of the heat... so we couldn't visit Ariburnu and ANZAC cove... but we visited the nearby Hill 60 cemetery walking some 600 meters in the fields...

and this is the photo of Green Hill Cemetery around Suvla bay which we took from the car without getting out...

and here is a photo of storks in the fields

Then we decided it was time to return back to home... on our way back to home we visited the Bigali village and the house that Kemal Ataturk stayed for a while and prepared the plans of the battle... then we were back on the highway... it was around 15:00 o'clock when we stoped at Gallipoli town which is actually some 25 kms far from the battle fields and had fish meal :)

after 380 kms we were at home as late as 21:00 o'clock in the evening because there was so much traffic around...
